Critically self-positioned and ‘Future Visions @ …’ themed architectural design studio concentrates on the ‘border-lines’ of the metropolises (New York, İstanbul, Moskova, Atina, İzmir), designs through the ‘architectural-cinematographic’ sections/montages as an attempt of layered reading and deciphering and ‘imaginations’, efforts to broaden the horizon of design and the creative actions about city and architecture by ‘pushing forward to the future’.

The text will focus on that how the studio members get the information, data and experience, briefly how they can attach to the context of the place (Moscow sample) by examining the four-staged research process of the studio. The stages are “(after) Constructivism New Urbanity & New Architecture” includes the ‘3 profile’ research method which is based on mapping, deciphering and understanding the city under the guidance of the routes and places of the citizens (locals?) from different profiles; “Visionary Design Approaches” begins with the reading and discussion of the ‘utopia/distopia’ based articles and literary texts and finishes with the production of self-manifested text and image; “Architectural Programming” and “Poetics in Metropolitan Architecture” experienced the contribution of the studio practice from a distance into the exploration of the genius loci and zeitgeist of the metropolis and its atmosphere without any presumption.
