Özet

The concern of portability in designs brought more importance to the power consumption aspect. Hence, works on power consumption prediction and reduction in complex digital designs becoming even more prominent. Nowadays, similiarly popular softcore processor designs, along with lots of useful trairts, becoming resourceful test units for these sorts of research. Thus, in this work; one of the softcore processors is examined, some power consumption tests were applied on its post-implementation model and problems that could be encountered during installation are listed with their solutions, in order to be a reference for further works. Also, a technique for creating momentary power consumption profile, a concept that has importance in terms of side channel analysis of cryptographic algorithms during design stage, was specified and used on aforementioned processor.
