Özet

Water quality classification is widely applied to provide a systematics in water quality management. Quality classifications based on conventional parameters have limited usage since today's pollution control and quality management approaches are focused on micropollutants. This paper attempts to evaluate the role of micropollutants in the systematics of water quality assessment by reviewing the developments in the field of water quality control and modelling. A new approach of water quality classification based on priorities is also defined.
