Biography
Quentin Stoeffler is an Assistant professor in the Department of Economics at Istanbul Technical University (ITU). His research focuses on development economics, in particular on empirical issues related to poverty, social protection, agricultural development and data collection. Quentin has collaborated with numerous universities and international organizations, including the World Bank, the International Labor Organization (ILO) and USAID. He conducted fieldwork and collected data in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Niger and Kenya, where, among other projects, he led impact evaluations of cash transfer and index insurance programs. His research has been published in academic journals such as World Development and the Journal of Development Studies. Before joining ITU in 2016, Quentin worked as a post-doctoral scholar in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Davis (PI: Michael Carter). He has also taught at the University of St-Andrews, and worked as a research intern for the Development Research Institute (IRD) and for the international development NGO Inter-reseaux. He holds a PhD in Economics from Virginia Tech and a Master in Development Economics from Sciences-Po.
