Özet

Cadmium is one of the leading pollutants due to its persistence and high mobility in the environment. In this work, the sorption behavior of cadmium ions were investigated using a newly synthesized adsorbent, multidentate amine ligand decorated hairy brushes on PS-DVB microbeads. The adsorption parameters were examined to evaluate the optimum values for pH, contact time, temperature and adsorbent amount (pH of 7.0, 5.0 mg adsorbent amount, 60.0 min. contact time, 25 degrees C). The adsorption process well fitted with Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second order model. The promising results indicated that the sorbent is a good alternative in cadmium removal studies.
