Abstract

The volume source integrals arising from the boundary element discretization of the neutron diffusion equation are transformed, via the multiple reciprocity method, into equivalent surface source integrals in order to eliminate the need for an interior mesh completely. The accuracy and efficiency of the new formulation is tested by comparisons with the classical boundary element formulation which requires an internal mesh for volume source integrations.
