In this paper a novel multiuser detector based on fuzzy rules using Recursive Least Squares (RLS) adaptation algorithms is proposed and its superiority against classical and Least Mean Squares (LMS) adapted fuzzy detectors is demonstrated, The bit error rate (BER) of the proposed detector is compared against the conventional detector, the decorrelating detector and the fuzzy LMS detector. The simulation results show that fuzzy detectors in general outperform classical detectors and that the proposed RLS adapted system provides better performance than the LMS adapted multiuser detector for CDMA systems.
