This study presents a power conversion process based on human pedaling power. In order to realize the concept a hub motor driven e-bike is used. The main aim is to generate electric power by means of pedal powered c-bike motor as generator, in order to supply critical electrical and electronic devices at emergency survival conditions. Moreover, a power electronic converter is offered to regulate human power for charging portable or household batteries that may be configured wide operating voltage rates. The proposed power converter could handle bidirectional power flow to provide also the motoring action. The design criteria are determined by the experimental analysis on various persons' efforts. Consequently, the power converter and motor controller are designed, implemented and tested.
