Abstract

A dual-band Quasi-Yagi antenna and its planar and virtual array variations have been studied, and results are presented in this paper. The antenna operates at dual-band, and it contains a loop and a dipole geometry, which results in two different radiation characteristics. The array with a 1x2 element is proposed with two input ports and the virtual array is designed by using a copper plate reflector under the antenna structure. The gain and matching properties of the antenna have been studied to improve by modifying the antenna into a two-element array and the virtual array with a reflector element. The ECC (envelope correlation coefficient) graph is also presented and shows that the two input design antenna is a good candidate for a multiple-input system. Both numerical and experimental results are presented.
