Transient one dimensional conduction in a slab during direct resistance and induction heating is studied analiticaly. Solutions are caried out simultaneously because of their similarity. Effect of applied current frequecy on the temperature variation is discussed. Advantages of direct resistance heating and induction heating for certain industrial applications are pointed out.
