Influence of ATH Filler on Tracking and Erosion Resistance of HTV Silicone Rubbers under DC Voltages

© 2021 Chamber of Turkish Electrical Engineers.This paper presents the investigation of tracking and erosion resistance of high temperature vulcanized (HTV) silicone rubber samples filled with 50 wt% ATH fillers using DC inclined plane tests. Two different types of ATH fillers, namely, precipitated and silane-treated, are used. In this comparative analysis, 2.75 kV for positive DC and 3.5 kV for negative DC are considered. The comparison points for performance assessment for two different fillers are eroded mass, erosion length, erosion depth, and time-to-failure. Leakage current behaviors of the samples are also evaluated.
