Abstract

The kinetic parameters, activation energy (E) and reaction order (n), of the thermal decomposition of various natural Turkish limestones were evaluated from non-isothermal TG curves by using a BASIC computer programme. The TG curves of 18 different natural limestones were obtained under identical experimental conditions. In the computer programme developed in this study a kinetic equation based on the Coats-Redfern method [1] was used. A kinetic compensation effect between the Arrhenius parameters (E and log A) was observed and this effect was expressed as log A = 0.215.E-1.872.
