Türkiye’de 1980’li yıllarda ilk kez gündeme gelen ve 31.05.2012 tarihinde “6306 sayılı Afet Riski Altındaki Alanların Dönüştürülmesi Hakkında Kanun”un yürürlüğe girmesiyle hız kazanan kentsel dönüşüm sürecinin belirgin sonuçları bugün görülmeye başlanmıştır. Kentsel dönüşümün çok geniş bir sahayı kapsadığı, yalnızca fiziksel değil, işlevsel, tarihsel, ekonomik, sosyo-kültürel ve gündelik yaşama dair pek çok sonuçlarının olduğu bu süreç içinde iyice anlaşılmıştır. Bu yazıda Türkiye’de izlenen kentsel dönüşüm politikası ve her alanda etkileri hissedilen kentsel dönüşüm eylemleri genel olarak değerlendirilmekte ve daha uzun yıllar devam edecek sürecin daha iyi sürdürülmesi noktasında çeşitli önerilerde bulunulmaktadır.
Significant results of the urban regeneration process, which came to the agenda for the first time in the 1980s in Turkey and accelerated with the enactment of the Law No. 6306 on the Regeneration of Areas Under Disaster Risk, on 31.05.2012, have begun to be seen today. In this process, it has been well understood that urban regeneration covers a very wide area and has not only physical but also functional, historical, economic, socio-cultural and daily life consequences. In this article, the urban regeneration policy followed in Turkey and the urban regeneration actions, whose effects are felt in all areas, are evaluated in general and various suggestions are made for the better continuation of the process that will continue for many years.
