Özet

Infrared thermography (IRT) is a non-destructive inspection method that is used to detect delamination in building elements. To detect delamination, dynamic thermal conditions are required, and therefore, determining proper inspection time becomes important, and thermogram interpretation becomes a complex process. To predict thermal response of building element inspected, thermal simulation can be used as a tool. In the paper, following brief theoretical information on IRT and delamination detection, use of thermal simulation is exemplified for IRT inspection of buildings in Istanbul (Turkey) with exterior thermal insulation composite system (ETICS). Simulation results are then evaluated to discuss the potential of IRT in detecting delamination between ETICS layers.
