Combining Global Positioning System (GPS) and Russian Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS) range observations and calculating navigation solution are fairly important under harsh and/or urban environments and for critical applications. The explained combination in this paper will help increasing the availability, integrity and reliability of a receiver with joint navigation solution calculation if the main integration problems are resolved between these satellite-based navigation systems.
