A new seven membered heterocyclic ligand, 2,3-bis (hydroxyimino)-1,4-bis (2'-hydroxybenzyl)-1,4-diaza-cycloheptane, containing two phenolate-type pendant arms and two oxime groups, has been prepared. Mononuclear, tetranuclear, homo- and hetero- pentanuclear metal complexes of this ligand have been synthesized with Cu (II), Ni (II) and U (VI) O-2. The structures of the newly synthesized ligand and its complexes have been investigated. Protonation constants of the ligand and overall formation constants have been measured by potentiometric techniques.
