Abstract

Stress relaxation tests in the uniform deformation region of an as-cast commercial Al bronze showed transient yield points on the stress-strain curves after reloading. This phenomenon is observed at room temperature but not a liquid nitrogen temperature. Sequential stress relaxation tests of this alloy have shown that the mobile dislocation density does not remain constant during relaxation at room temperature.
