SUSTAINABLE ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES AND ASSESSMENTS, vol.47, 2021 (SCI-Expanded)
The main purpose of this research was to develop general equations that can be used to estimate the mean and standard deviation of the current power by using perturbation theory. The developed formulae herein can be applied to current data that fit the log Pearson type 3 probability distribution function. By using the fitted parameters of the distribution (shape, scale, and location parameters), the mean and standard deviation of the current power can be estimated more accurately. The developed equation was applied at a location in the vicinity of the Northern Bosphorus. Finally, the maximum power density and energy obtained were 21.24 W/m(2) and 186.19 kW h/m(2)/year, respectively.
