The factors which constitute the cultural memory and the myths concerning the explication of this memory; and the rituals concerning the creation of the application universe are seen as the most effective factors of the collective sharing in the performances. These two factors create a realm of thought and practice both from the society to the individual and from the individual to the society; and in Alevism and Bektashism doctrine, they bring the society together in many respects which constitute the structure such as belief and music, and in the realm of thought and practice. In Alevism and Bektashism belief system, the cems are the most effective rituals both of the physical appearance of the universe (rotation of planets, their interrelations, etc.) and of existence and continuity which have transmitted from thought to the practice. The sacred codes of Alevism and Bektashism doctrine - in which “the sacred” can be known as “the secret” within the doctrine - are transmitted throughout these rituals; thus the sacredness has transformed into a collective sharing. The two significant and effective mission post (hizmet postu) in this sharing are the Dedelik/Analık and the zâkirlik. Zâkir is the representative of the mission post who mentions the sacred codes, sacralize the place/volume and time with music. The zâkir thus passes transmit the cultural memory from the past to the future. On the other side, the reality of popular culture which is influential in the musical field today makes interrogating the perception about zâkirlik possible. In this study, the zâkirlik will be analyzed in terms of the traditional ritual realm and the influence of popular culture.
