Abstract

Numerical methods previously developed for evaluating the performance of biofilm reactors are tested against data from the literature. Axial dispersion phenomenon inside the liquid layer is included because of influance on the mass transfer coefficients needed for the performance of the computer programs developed. Practical application of this theory to experimental results is also demostrated.
