Özet

Both large elastic deformation and linear elasticity have been used to calculate the stress induced in the passive medium of the myocardium. It is shown that the results of the calculation of the stress by using linear elasticity can be derived from the results obtained by using large elastic deformation; estimation of the error is discussed. The model used for the left ventricle is that of a thick-walled cylinder contracting symmetrically. The active force generated by the myocardium during the systolic phase is represented as force per unit volume of the myocardium as in previous publications.
