Abstract

Satellite structures should withstand the loads during and after launch and support other equipment. The central cone is one of the primary structures of the satellite to achieve this goal. The main objective of this study is comparing and selecting the optimal design of central cone which is designed for Low Earth Orbit satellite. To conclude this purpose, 6 different central cones designed in Siemens NX with same boundary conditions. There are 3 different design concepts which are grid, sandwich and semi-monocoque with CFRP and Aluminum material in each. All cones compared as weight, stiffness, buckling and stress strength with analyzes done by using Simcenter 3D.
