Özet

PMMA is an important thermoplastic polymer for utilization in several industrial areas such as space and aviation applications. Studies involving carbon nanotubes include research topics that have attracted attention in recent years due to the extraordinary mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties of these nanoparticles. In this study, multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) has been effective as a nanofiller in Poly (methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) synthesized by the Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization (ATRP) method. The synthesis of PMMA/MWCNTs nanocomposite by using this polymerization method has been ensured for the homogeneous dispersion of the MWCNTs in the PMMA. The addition of MWCNTs in PMMA/ MWCNTs nanocomposite had modified the physical properties of the PMMA by the using in-situ polymerization method. The synthesis of the PMMA/ MWCNTs nanocomposite by the ATRP method has promoted the performance of MWCNTs in the PMMA liquid monomers. The changes of the structural characteristics in PMMA/MWCNTs nanocomposite were determined with the MWCNTs addition at the minor amount. The structural variations in PMMA/MWCNTs nanocomposite were examined for the detailed specification of MWCNTs integration in PMMA by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) methods
