Abstract

In this work, we propose a new iterative method running on a receiver located at a moving platform for uncooperative radar geolocation. The method uses Doppler-shifted measurements of the stationary radar signals due to the platform motion. The carrier frequency and the position of the radar are estimated jointly in each iteration by solving a semi-definite program. Conducted experiments show that a few iterations are enough for convergence to stable estimates. Hence, the proposed method has a significant computational advantage compared to traditional techniques, which require an extensive grid search on either position or carrier frequency parameter space.
