Abstract

The twentieth century portrays the professionalization of architecture as well as the formation of different professional routes with the diversification of architects' careers in Turkey. In this context, Rebii Gorbon's career, which was based on architecture and also artistic and industrial ceramics design and manufacturing process, is a remarkable example of his era. However, Gorbon's professional life and works are mostly unknown. This study aims to present Gorbon's professional life by conducting archival research, literature review, and oral history interviews with his family, students, and colleagues.
