Özet

Recently, comprehensive discussions have been continued on operational efficiency and environmental performance during the shipbuilding processes. This paper investigates a new implementation and execution model for meeting the additional requirements in order to integrate the recent technological developments into the shipbuilding processes in shipyard organizations. The initial stages of this study consist of a wide range of literature review on the latest technologies and innovative activities in shipbuilding industry. Then, classification is performed with taxonomy on identifying interactions between new technologies and the existing traditional shipbuilding processes. The main goal of the proposed mechanism is to interface the traditional shipbuilding stages with the technology needs and requirements to support the implementation process of technological developments. Identifying the route of technology integration in Turkish shipyards with prototype case applications by utilizing the quantified results of this research are assigned for the further research.
