Abstract

The benefits of air dispersion modeling in case of a local radiological emergency situation were investigated. Simulation of a local incident releasing low activity was performed. 131I release due to fire damage of containers in the cargo section of the Istanbul Ataturk Airport was simulated by using air dispersion model HYSPLIT. Calculated maximum air concentration and deposition values are 2.90E-01 Bq/m3 and 3.90E+01 Bq/m2 respectively over Marmara Sea.
