Özet

This study aims to investigate the integral and differential control rod worth for ITU TRIGA MARK II research reactor. A 3D-model is developed for neutronics analysis of TRIGA MARK II research reactor of Istanbul Technical University, Turkey. Then, Monte Carlo code MCNP5 is used to estimate an accurate response of ITU TRIGA MARK II reactor. The control rod reactivity worth curves obtained numerically by using Monte Carlo model are compared with the experimental data. Whereas, all numerical and experimental analyses are conducted for the Beginning of Life (BOL) conditions. Moreover, the influence of cross-section data is investigated by using three different libraries based on Evaluated Nuclear Data Files (ENDF6.0 and ENDF6.6a) and RMCCS. The differences between experimental and numerical results for reactivity worth trends are observed and discussed. By understanding the influence of cross section data, the numerical model is optimized to reduce uncertainties which is the main output of this study.
