Abstract

We present an analysis of the thermal efficiencies of two different types of MHD-generator cycles operated at maximum power output. The results are compared with the Curzon and Ahlborn efficiency. For electrical efficiency eta(e) approaching unity, the MHD-cycle efficiency is the same as that Of Curzon and Ahlborn Dependencies of cycles producing maximum work are also analyzed with respect to electrical efficiency.
