Özet

Classification systems are being evolved in parallel to the developments in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC) industry and Construction Information Technology (Construction IT). In this paper the most accepted and well known classification systems are analyzed in brief in order to identify some problematic issues which in case solved; would believed to enlighten the strategic directions towards industrialization of the industry, whilst introducing some new classification paradigms emerged with the developments at information technologies in construction. Then some preliminary concepts about an object oriented construction information classification system are introduced, aiming to contribute to the evolution and standardization efforts of the analyzed classification systems.
