Abstract

The synthesis, characterization and photophysical properties of novel, non-peripherally tetrasubstituted metal-free and metallophthalocyanines (MPcs) (Zn, In) bearing morpholinoethoxy groups have been reported. The new compounds were characterized by using elemental analysis, H-1 NMR, UV-Vis and FTIR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. The aggregative properties of the novel compounds were investigated in different concentrations. General trends for fluorescence quantum yields and lifetimes of metal-free and metallophthalocyanines were also described in tetrahydrofuran (THF). The fluorescence of these compounds is effectively quenched by 1,4-benzoquinone (BQ) in THF. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
