Abstract

Morpholine substituted poly(vinyl methyl ketone) (MSP) is presented as non-vinyl crosslinker forming insoluble polymers in polymerization of vinyl monomers. In this process, crosslinking occurs via double bonds in situ formed by thermal de-amination of MSP above 70 degrees C as demonstrated in polymerization of methylmethacrylate (MMA), styrene and 4-vinyl pyridine (4-VP) monomers.
