Abstract

The present paper will review and appraise the conceptual and empirical problems associated with the definition of organisational "size" within the context of interorganizational networks in the construction industry. The contractor firm traditionally defines its existence with reference to the project network which consists of several types of relationships, ranging from quasi-firm arrangements to the use of auxiliary firms.
