12th International Conference on Martensitic Transformations, ICOMAT-08, Santa Fe, NM, United States Of America, 29 June - 05 July 2008, pp.573-576
The effect of Fe-addition on the structural and magnetic properties of Ni-Mn-Ga has been studied by substituting systematically each atomic species by Fe. Transition temperatures (structural and magnetic) and martensitic transition entropy and enthalpy changes have been obtained from magnetic and calorimetric measurements. From these results the influence of Fe-addition on the relative phase stability of the martensitic and intermediate phases has been analyzed. Deviations from the reported scaling of transition temperatures with e/a for Ni-Mn-Ga are obtained in the studied quaternary system.
