Abstract

In this paper, applied design methodology of robust analog I/O (input and output) module of industrial controller is explained. Analog I/O modules are one of the essential part of the controller. Main aspects of the design methodology are reducing microprocessor processing complexity, selecting proper ICs (Integrated Circuits), analog signal correlation, transducer reading performance improvements, ADC (analog to digital converter) and DAC (digital to analog converter) implementation techniques. Additionally, test results and serial communication protocols also mentioned.
