Abstract

Short-sea shipping has a vital importance especially for the countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. In recent years, the containerization trend in shipping industry has enforced the relevant shareholders to develop system infrastructures and service potentials especially at ports and terminals within maritime mode of transport. This paper analytically evaluates the principal Mediterranean container ports using the data and feedbacks from Turkish container shipping industry. The hybrid evaluation systematic based on Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) and Fuzzy Information Axioms (FIA) provides quantitative outcomes towards customer satisfaction of Turkish Shipowners over container ports on Mediterranean short-sea shipping lines.
