Abstract

In this study the kinetics of esterification reaction between glycerol and oleic acid was investigated in the presence of pyridine as a cosolvent. Reaction was carried out at 180 degrees C, 200 degrees C and 220 degrees C using equivalent proportion of the reactants. A second-order rate equation was fitted to the experimental data at 180 degrees C while a third-order rate equation was fitted for the data obtained at the other temperatures.
