Abstract

Modern applications and scientific research involve resource demanding tasks such as storage, retrieval and analysis of large and complex data. To meet the huge resource requirement, vehicular volunteer computing is proposed in this paper. With the advancements in vehicular communication technologies and embedment of computing resources in vehicles, a large number of powerful computing resources would be available on roads and at parking lots which can be employed to make the execution of projects possible without relying on dedicated servers and supercomputers.
