Abstract

In order to interpret the electrocatalytic properties of palladium for the oxidation of ethylene glycol, a mechanistic investigation was carried out in alkaline medium. The kinetic parameters, estimated from electrochemical data, suggest a one electron step to be rate determining, and the rate of the reaction depends directly on the pH.
