Abstract

This paper presents a one-slot ac steady-state finite-element model (FEM) of a canned solid rotor induction motor. It describes a new implementation for tracking tooth ripple sources and applying this to the one-slot model of the machine. The reason for creating a one-slot model of the solid rotor induction motor is not only to simplify the whole model and reduce the computational time, but also to determine the extra losses due to the high frequency. Results are compared with the experimental data and a transient FEM of the entire machine.
