Özet

The purpose of this paper is increasing the efficiency of small scale wind energy conversion systems (WECS) by using adaptive maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller, which is improved by fuzzy logic and showing the improvements by making comparison of results. MPPT based fixed step and adaptive control algorithms are developed and improved by fuzzy logic controller (FLC) for small scale wind turbines with permanent magnet synchronous generators (PMSG) in this study. Initially, available PMSG and wind turbine models are simulated by using MATLAB/Simulink. Fixed step, adaptive and fuzzy logic control are implemented to the model respectively following the WECS modeling with its control subsystem. Some improvements are also performed through FLC and the differences in different control algorithms are presented according to the simulation results.
