Abstract

Steel Shear walls (SSW) are the common lateral resisting system around the world. Early stage research on utilising the beneficial properties of fibre reinforced polymers FRP to increase the strength and improve the behaviour of SSW systems is under way. The application of FRP in SSW systems merits review of the effect of this material on the behaviour of the connection between the hybrid steel/FRP infill plate and the boundary frame elements.
