We derived an analytical expression for the effects of core lattice vibration, ternary composition and interface strain due to the mismatch of lattice constants and thermal expansion coefficients of core and shell on the core region band gap of binary/ternary heterostructure core/shell quantum dots as a function of composition and temperature. It is shown that the effect of core region lattice vibration on band gap of CdSe/CdZnS and ZnSe/CdZnS QDs is higher than that of interface strain at high temperatures.
