;Peridodite and related upper mantle rocks bearing platinum-group metals, chromite and magnesite ores are exposed extensively along the suture zones of Anatolia. The Mugla, Fethiye and Koycegiz region is one of the places in which many outcrops of upper mantle rocks are seen as thrust slices (Lycian nappes). Here, serpentinized harzburgites, dunites, pyroxenites and gabbros outcrop with significant chromite occurences. The samples collected from the peridodite indicate the presence of platinum group metals. These preliminary results imply that this area deserves further attention.
