In this paper, error performances of multiple-input multiple-output systems that employ Alamouti-coded transmission with transmit antenna selection are examined for binary phase-shift keying, binary frequency-shift keying, M-ary phase-shift keying, and M-ary quadrature amplitude-modulation signals in independent but non-identically distributed flat Nakagami-m fading channels. Exact symbol error rate expressions are derived by using the moment-generating function-based analysis method. Upper bound expressions have been obtained in order to examine the asymptotic diversity order of transmit antenna selection/Alamouti scheme. Also, outage probability analysis of investigated systems has been given in order to examine the system capacity.
