Abstract

RPL became the widely accepted routing protocol for Internet of Things. RPL suggests different modes of operation (MOP) to satisfy different use cases effectively. However, interconnectivity between different modes has not been possible so far. In this research, a new method to provide interconnection between different modes of operation is proposed and compared to current studies. Simulation results show that suggested approach reduces average hop count by 33% while providing interconnection between different modes.
