Abstract

In the present study, the iodine concentrations of drinking water samples collected from various locations at Kayseri City-Turkey were determined by iodine-starch method spectrophotometrically. The iodine contents of the samples were found in the range of 10.86-85.40 mug/l (lowest in Erciyes University, highest in Suksun Station). The results show that the Kayseri and surroundings suffer moderate iodine deficiency.
