Abstract

A mixture of two incompressible Newtonian fluids is considered and the flow induced by longitudinal vibration of a plate on the flow between parallel plates, under a constant pressure gradient, is then investigated. Explicit results are obtained in the exact solutions and the limiting cases in which a suitable non-dimensionalized frequency is very small and very large, the nature of the solution in the intermediate frequency range being discussed numerically.
