Özet

Newmark sliding block model is a model frequently used for calculating earthquake-induced ground displacements. Using this model in literature, regression analyses have been carried out according to various earthquake data and some calculation methods have been suggested. In this study, the status of previous studies have been reviewed according to records in Turkey and necessary evaluations have been made using significant earthquake records between 1976 and 2013 in Turkey (M-w >= 5.5). In the next step, average maximum acceleration (a(0)) parameter has been defined based on maximum earthquake acceleration and a new analysis covering this parameter has been suggested in this study. The regression fit (R-2) of the new form is higher and standart deviation of the new approximation is smaller than the previous forms. Therefore, in consequence, it has been clearly seen that the new form is more appropriate for the data used.
